A game of memories, relationships, and falling apart

i remember you.  is a conversation, or a confrontation, or a confluence of being between two individuals who know (or once knew) each other, facilitated through building a stack of rocks together.  Your stack is your story, and your story is your relationship, and your relationship is made of the memories you've made together, the memories you have of each other.  Each stone represents a memory, and whether or not your stack falls apart depends on what memories you hold dear enough to keep.  But will you choose to keep the same ones?  What happens if they must ask you to throw away a memory, even as you clutch it close to heart? What happens if your story falls apart?  You may play as fictional characters, with fictional memories, interacting in a controlled space (do you lack the courage?)  Or, you may play as yourselves, with your own memories,  to reminisce, to reconnect, to remember (do you trust each other?)

What is a memory?

Merely an approximation, of a fragment, of an emotion long-passed.  Someone, somewhere,

(somewhen, somehow)

felt like they mattered to you, at some moment in time since lost

(and that emotion lingered.)

But a "moment in time" cannot be held, cannot be kept.  It is passed- no longer present, no longer tangible

(does it no longer matter?)

What you think you remember isn't real- it is a fabrication, of something that may have once held substance

(fabrications seldom last.)

And yet, when we are away, we are permitted to exist only in memory.

A better question:

What is your memory (to someone who remembers you?)
